recommendation!
(February 16, 2019) K.A. said: Best Doggie Daycare Ever! I have two dogs who love going to Mountain Mongrels. My older dog has always hated going to doggie daycare so we stopped forcing her but she loves this place and walks right in. She definitely prefers hanging with humans but she is a good sport and plays with a few dogs she deems acceptable (ha!). Our second dog loves everything where he has other dogs to play with. We have not tried boarding them yet but we will this spring. They do fill up quickly so make your reservations at the same time you book your hotel.
(February 02, 2018) Jenn U said: This is by far my favorite dog boarding place ever! Our little 14-year-old puggle has separation anxiety and hadn't been to boarding in several years. They took great care of her. It went so well that we brought her back a couple weeks later so we could have a date night in Grand Lake. Our puggle remembered Mountain Mongrels and walked right in! I wish they were closer to us because we would use Mountain Mongrels all the day! I've been searching for places as good as Mountain Mongrels as when we travel and nobody compares!
(July 8, 2017) Mary G. said: Heidi had a great day making new friends at Mountain Mongrels!
(November 2, 2017) Cathy A. said: This place is amazing. I never worry about our dogs when they're here, Max and Lily are scheduled to spend a week there later this month and they've both told me they are really looking forward to it!
(September 15, 2016) Lynn C. said: There are not enough stars available to truly rate this incredible family!!! They were so kind, so caring and loving to our dog, we recommend them to anyone, any time. Our Golden Retriever mix loved going there daily, she was always loved and cared for like she was part of THEIR family. Not a kennel, not a boarding facility - this is a place where your dog is treated like part of their family. We started the summer looking for a place for our Georgia to spend the days while we worked, but what we found were great friends for life.
(January 4, 2016) Ruth G. said: I am so happy to have discovered Mountain Mongrels this winter! Our dogs just love it there, and I know that they are well taken care of. The owners are wonderful and caring - Luna and Noah say thank you, and they cannot wait for their next visit!
(October 23, 2015) Pat J. said: Jesse & Therese are THE BEST! We have a an 11 lb Rat Terrier, Skipper, who is "Miss Social" and a 60lb Australian Shepherd, Henna, who is reserved & fearful. Jesse & Therese taught Henna how to play with toys, helped her socialize with other dogs, and give her so much love and support! Mountain Mongrels doesn't just board our girls, they really make a difference in their lives!
(September 17, 2015) Dana W. said: Love this wonderful day care for my dog and the great people that own it! The best!!!
(August 27, 2015) Lori A. said: I can't say enough good things about Mountain Mongrels, Terese and Jesse are sweethearts and are very accommodating. I am so relieved to have a place to take Paislee where I know she is loved and treated well. I don't worry one bit about her when I drop her off. I know she is in wonderful, capable hands. I just love Terese and Jesse. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.... and Paislee says THANK YOU too!
(February 8, 2015) Michele H.said:I have a hard time leaving my beloved rescue Zazu behind but Mountain Mongrels made it SO easy!!! Jesse and Terese are fantastic: Jesse knew it was hard for me to leave him so she sent photo updates and videos of him. He looked so happy and had such a good time! When he came home he was healthy and not traumatized as he was from another boarding experience. We will definitely be using Mountain Mongrels whenever we can't take him with us- we are so fortunate to have such caring, loving and professional critter care givers in Grand County!
(Dec 25, 2014) Carhartt C. said:This facility carries a Carhartt (five star) paw print of approval. Thorough backgrounds are required of all residents, and it is a very clean, secure, happy and caring environment.
(Nov 30, 2014) Jeffrey D. said: Ayden and Rocket love Mountain Mongrels.! Ayden especially loves to eat, opps, greet new people and bark at everyone.

(Aug 20, 2014) Charlie H. said: Dear Mountain Mongrels. I love coming to visit every week. My mom calls it school, but I'm pretty sure it's just great play time with my friends. I love all of the special attention that I get there and cry every time we drive by and my Mom does not drop me off. You girls are great and take really good care of me. I love this place. P.S. my Mom wrote this for me because I do not speak Spanish. Charlie
(Nov 30, 2013) Deb G. said:Love, love, love Mountain Mongrels. They are "family". Phoebe calls them Nana Terese and Nana Jesse. It's her home away from home. Sometimes we think she likes it better there than here with boring, old mommy and daddy. :-) She has so many friends to run and play with. When she comes home she is happy and pooped. When we drive by, she has a fit to stop by and just say hi to her Nanas. It you haven't been in, stop by and check out the goodies, the new facility and the nanas. You and your pet will be glad you did. What a blessing and JOY for our Grand Lake community.
(Nov 24, 2013) Cindy said: We have a rat terrier and an Aussie, both of whom were rescue dogs, but the latter has some socialization issues. So it was not without some trepidation that we decided to give Mountain Mongrels a try for our doggie day care and boarding needs. Jessie spent lots of time discussing the personalities and then said that she was very confident that she and Terese would make a positive impact on our dogs lives. Wow, what a blessing Jessie and Terese have become in our lives!! The dogs look forward to their weekly day care day complete with field trips and we can actually get away for a weekend with complete confidence that the dogs will also be having a blast!!
(Nov 16, 2013) Gracie's family said:We have a timeshare in Granby that doesn't accept dogs. Luckily we found Mountain Mongrels doing a web search. Our lab Gracie was treated like she was at home! When we went to take her back in the afternoon after a suggested "dog friendly" hike from Jesse, she was actually excited to return to Jesse! Our family was relieved to know that we can all vacation together with our timeshare & Gracie's "timeshare" that she loved too. We will definitely return! Thanks Jesse! The Segall family.
(Aug 28, 2013) R. Stone said:We rented a house in Grand Lake that didn't allow pets, so we boarded our 4-year old GSD with Mountain Mongrels. What a great experience! She was treated so well and Jessie was so responsive to our texts & calls. With such open communication, we always knew what our dog was doing & how she was doing - that alleviated so much stress for us on our vacation. We can't say enough great things about Mountain Mongrels! Will be happy to board our dog there again & again. Thanks again for the great stay! The Stone Family
(Aug 9, 2013) Scott H. said:This is likely the greatest doggie day camp on the planet. Mountain Mongrels isn't your average take-your-dog-to-a-kennel experience. When I drop off my pooch, I'm leaving him with friends. Whether it's just for a few hours, or an overnight stay, he's treated like a member of the family. You can't ask for more than that, right? A local business run BY dog owners FOR dog owners. A gem in Grand Lake.

We had never sent our dogs to daycare but wanted to enjoy some of the non-dog activities Grand Lake offers, Jesse and her mother were wonderful. True pros!! Tali and Oggie were loved and carefully watched over during their 2 visits. Would definitely recommend!!
